Councils

PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Pastoral Council consists of the pastor and nine parishioners, most of them elected. This is an advisory council which shares the responsibility for the spiritual growth of parish members. It works at forming policy and developing programs of pastoral activity. It meets seven times a year. Committees under the Parish Council are those of Education, Liturgical, Prison Ministry, Scholarship and Spiritual/Human/Social Development.

FINANCE COUNCIL

The Financial Council consists of the pastor and six members of the parish. They are chosen by the pastor after appropriate consultation. The council is to help the pastor act justly and prudently in the administration of the parish's temporal goods. The parish budget and buildings and grounds are among the more immediate concerns of the council.

 

PARISH COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN (P.C.C.W.)

Every lady of the parish is invited to be a member of this council. The council strives to meet the spiritual and social needs of its members as well as to raise money for charity and for parish projects. The council is divided into six commissions: Family Concerns, International, Legislative, Church, Organization and Community. They meet for social, spiritual and service projects. The entire council meets on the second Monday of the month (from August -December, March - May). The council puts on funeral dinners and serves sacramental and graduation receptions, as well as many other projects when called upon to help

 

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL

Our local Knights of Columbus 1st ~ 3rd Degree involves men of Black River Falls, Alma Center, Fairview and Fairchild parishes. They sponsor events for servers, conduct the Christmas poster contest and donate to our parish education programs. They donate to and raise money for various charitable purposes. They meet on the fourth Thursdays of the month with locations rotating. The 4th Degree encompasses a larger area. Meetings occur on third Monday's of the month.
